2019 RACING LUNCH

We are thrilled to announce our guests for the 2019 Spring Racing Lunch

Lindsey Smith and Greg Miles

Lindsey is one of the most revered trainers in Australia. A meticulous conditioner and a pioneer of sand track training, he has won a swag of Group 1 races including the 2005 Victoria Derby with Plastered. Lindsey has recently set up a base in Victoria and has one of the best winning strike rates in the country heading into the 2019 Spring Carnival. He has already collected two Group 1 Victories this spring through the deeds of 9 year old warhorse Black Heart Bart which claimed the Underwood Stakes (at 101-1!) and Scales of Justice earlier in the Memsie Stakes and has a host of other chances coming up.

Known as the Voice of Australian Racing, Greg Miles called his first Melbourne Cup in 1981 at the tender age of 22. He went on to call a record 36 Cups along with 36 Cox Plates and 36 Caulfield Cups. He called for radio and television, starting with the ABC, then Sky Channel, Sport 927 and Racing.Com. He was also the course broadcaster at the Flemington, Caulfield, Moonee Valley and Sandown tracks. He was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2016 for services to racing, and is a life member of the Victoria, Melbourne and Moonee Valley Racing Clubs.
